Sharp Stock Clipper Privacy Policy ​

Sharp Stock Clipper (the "Extension") is a browser extension developed and provided by Sharp Knife Games ("we," "us," or "our"). It helps you find media on the web page you are viewing, then download it or send it to the Sharp Stock desktop application at your direction.

This policy explains how the Extension handles data. Please read it carefully before installing or using the Extension.

1. Data Stored on Your Device ​

The Extension stores the settings you choose in your browser's extension storage. These settings can include:

  • Your preferred interface language.
  • The default destination folder name used when importing into Sharp Stock.
  • The local Sharp Stock service address you configure.
  • Your grouping, sorting, and download-feature preferences.

These settings remain in your browser profile. The Extension does not send them to Sharp Knife Games.

2. Web Page and Media Data ​

When you open the Extension or use its context-menu shortcut, it reads the current page to identify available image and audio resources. During this process, the Extension may access the page URL, page title, media URLs, and media-related information needed to display results, such as dimensions, file type, and file size.

This processing is initiated by your use of the Extension and takes place in your browser. The Extension does not create a browsing-history database or transmit scanned page information to Sharp Knife Games.

3. Downloads and Imports You Request ​

The Extension only retrieves media when you choose to preview, download, or import it. The media is requested from the website or media host that provides it.

  • Downloads: If you enable and use the download feature, the selected media is saved through your browser's download function. Your browser and the source website handle that transfer according to their own settings and policies.
  • Imports into Sharp Stock: If you choose to import media, the Extension sends the selected media and limited source information, such as the page URL and media URL, to the Sharp Stock desktop application running on your computer. This communication uses a local 127.0.0.1 address; it is not sent to Sharp Knife Games' servers.
  • Source websites: Media requests are subject to the privacy policy, terms, and technical controls of the relevant website or hosting provider. Some sites may receive normal request information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser headers.

4. Local Application Communication ​

The Extension communicates with Sharp Stock only after you initiate an import. The Sharp Stock desktop application accepts these local requests only from browser-extension origins and rejects requests from ordinary web pages or requests without an Origin header. The Extension does not require, create, or transmit a pairing code or account credential for this local communication.

5. No Accounts, Analytics, or Sale of Data ​

The Extension does not require an account. It does not include advertising analytics, tracking pixels, or a service that sells, rents, or shares your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not operate a server that receives your Extension settings, scanned media lists, or imported media files.

6. Data Security and Your Choices ​

You control whether to use the download and import features, and you can remove the Extension or clear its stored settings through your browser at any time. Please use care when downloading or importing content from the internet and ensure that you have the necessary rights to use it.

7. Children's Privacy ​

The Extension is intended for creators and development teams and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy ​

We may update this policy when the Extension or applicable requirements change. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page. Continued use of the Extension after an update means that you accept the updated policy.
