Video

Sharp Stock provides convenient built-in preview support for video assets, suitable for managing game cutscenes, skill demonstration videos, and UI special effect sequences.

1. Supported Video Standards

The system identifies mainstream multimedia container formats. Whether a video can play smoothly in the detail panel and support automatic thumbnail capture depends primarily on the video's internal encoding and the operating system's underlying decoding capabilities.

  • MP4 / MOV: Mainstream development formats. We recommend using H.264 or H.265 encoding, as these typically offer the best cross-platform compatibility.
  • WebM: Often used for lightweight web materials or specific tool exports.
  • MKV: A universal multimedia encapsulation format with diverse internal encoding combinations.
  • AVI / WMV: Frequently seen in older materials. Compatibility Note: Due to encoding and encapsulation constraints, some files may not play directly in the app or automatically generate thumbnails (in which case the grid shows only a video type icon).

NOTE

If you encounter resources that cannot be previewed, we recommend using a system player to confirm the file status, and if necessary, transcode to H.264 encoded MP4 before re-entering the library.

2. Interactive Playback Controls

Built-in Dedicated Player

When a video asset is selected, the detail panel provides a complete playback control panel:

  • Core Controls: Supports one-click play/pause and precise progress jumping.
  • Audio Adjustment: Provides volume control and one-click mute functionality.
  • Full-Screen Review: Supports switching to full-screen mode for detailed review of high-resolution videos.

Automated Thumbnail Generation

For most common formats, the system automatically captures video keyframes as thumbnails in the grid view. If a card shows only a type icon, it typically means the video encoding is specialized and the system cannot perform background frame capture previews directly.

3. Technical Parameter Extraction

The system automatically extracts and displays the following core technical indicators:

  • Resolution Specs (e.g., 1920x1080)
  • Total Playback Duration (precise to seconds)

4. Asset Management Suggestions

  • Versioned Naming: For frequently iterating special effects videos, we recommend clearly marking resolution or version numbers in the filename (e.g., fx_fire_v02_1080p.mp4).
  • Capacity Monitoring: Use the file size information displayed in the detail panel to timely identify and handle large video materials occupying unusual amounts of space.

5. Advanced Compatibility Notes

  • Encoding Standard: For the best preview compatibility, we recommend unifying the entire project under the H.264 video encoding + AAC audio encoding in an MP4 container.
  • Transcoding Suggestion: For AVI or WMV formats that cannot generate previews, we recommend transcoding them to a universal standard before long-term archiving to ensure all team members get a consistent preview experience.
