Switching & Closing Libraries

Sharp Stock supports loading and running only one current asset library at a time. If you are configuring a library for the first time, please refer to the Quick Start guide first.

This chapter will guide you on how to switch to another asset library or close the current library while already in the main interface.

Switching to Another Local Library

  1. Click the ⚙ Settings icon above the folder navigation tree.
  2. Select [Library Status] from the left navigation in the settings panel.
  3. To the right of the "Switch Current Library" configuration, click the [Switch] button.
  4. In the system folder selection box, locate and select the target directory:
    • Existing Library: If you select an already initialized asset library, the application will automatically load and refresh it.
    • New Directory: If you select an empty directory or an uninitialized folder, the system will pop up an initialization confirmation box. For details, refer to Quick Start: Open or Create Local Library.
  5. Operation Note: During folder selection, the interface will enable a full-screen block mode until the path is determined or the operation is canceled.
  6. If you cancel the folder selection, the system will retain the connection status of the current asset library and will not perform a switch.

For detailed configuration instructions, please refer to Settings Guide: Library Status.

Closing the Current Library

  1. Enter the ⚙ Settings -> [Library Status] panel.
  2. To the right of the "Close Library" configuration, click the [Close] button.
  3. The application will disconnect from the current asset library and clear the cache, then automatically return to the Welcome & Configuration page. At this point, you can re-select a local library or perform an SVN checkout.

Supplementary Notes

  • Consistency: The "Select Local Library Directory" on the startup page and the "Switch" option in settings share the same underlying processing logic.
  • Data Security: Switching or closing a library only changes the current loading pointer; it will not delete any physical asset files or database records on the local disk.
